UK glamping holidays, Feather Down has a different take on glamping.
At first glance you would think that Feather Down is glamping or glamorous camping,
indeed various media categorise us in that category. Glamping is a combination of glamorous and camping. In general camping is seen as a basic holiday, not for everyone.. by adding luxury, camping becomes ‘glamorous’ and is an option for a different range of people, the so called glamorous campers.
They like the outdoors and the freedom, but need a little luxury too.
At a Feather Down Farm you go to bed in comfort, in your glamorous tent. there is no comparison with basic camping when it comes to sleeping:
Your luxury tent is 45 m2
3 bedrooms including the cosy cupboard bed
You sleep on real beds with real duvets, not sleeping bags!
You have fresh running water and a flushing toilet in the tent.
A kitchen area with everything you should need
A solid wooden floor, making the tent feel like a traditional farmers cottage
Glamping or glamorous camping? Why is Feather Down different?
Although at Feather Down we like you to be comfortable, you won’t find a coffee machine, flat screen or dishwasher in our tents. Feather Down is about experiencing special moments. Not only the children but parents too will encounter new experiences. Your days will be so different than those at home:
We don’t have electricity in the tents, which certainly isn’t glamorous but opens up a whole load of new experiences.
Dinner and boardgames will take place by candlelight and oil lamps
You warm your tent with a wood burning stove, which means stoking and keeping the fire going
Children have never slept better than they do in the cupboard bed
There is a mains flushing toilet in the tent, luxury indeed but we present it in a way that was common 50 yrs ago.
You’ll be guests on a real working farm. Watching a calf or lamb being born, collecting fresh eggs from the coop and playing carefree outdoors will all come together to make special memories.
Shopping in the honesty shop gives you the chance to try local fresh foods and produce
